The full-stack

Full stack is about understanding adjacent engineering practices and is good for you and your career progression.

Just remember, if you have a hammer, all problems look like nails. Things like “fullstack engineer” might not mean the same thing for all of us, yet “learning new things outside of your comfort zone” does and it is a more practical advice. It will make you better in your existing expertise.

What can you do?

  • If you are a frontend engineer, start writing APIs, add a database to it,
  • If you are a backend dev, make screens to use your backend, design a prototype too,
  • Or deploy your pet project to a server hosting, the result will worth the effort and you will appreciate those who maintain and build servers.

During the journey, you will find those areas are not that dissimilar, and might find a way to appreciate how hard to master each of them.

Then ask for feedback from people with different expertise. Introvert or awkward in public? Don’t be afraid, everyone loves to talk about their passions :)

And show off your passion, you never know what opportunities it will open up. Can’t close this box now, Pandora, what should I do?
